Upper Iowa University Athletics Hall of Fame
Tyler Adams was inducted into the Upper Iowa Athletics Hall of Fame as an athlete. Adams graduated from Upper Iowa in 2014 with a degree in management and financial management. The Onalaska, Wis. native competed with the Peacock baseball team for four years from 2011-14 under Head Coach Mark Danker.
As a senior, Adams was honored for his work both on and off the field; he was named to the Capital One Academic All-America Second Team and Academic All-District for NCAA Division II, as well as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Division II All-America Third Team and three separate all-region teams. Following his final campaign, he was selected as one of UIU’s two NSIC honored student-athletes and nominated for the Dr. William Britton Scholar-Athlete Award. During his final season, the centerfielder hit .424 overall with 67 hits. Adams holds the program record for hits in a career with 217 and a career batting average of .401 with only 52 strikeouts in his 541 at bats.
Adams is a financial advisor at Baird and serves as an executive board member for the Onalaska Athletic Booster Club. He still finds time for baseball at the town-league level playing with the La Crosse 35ers. He married fellow Upper Iowa alumnus Carmen (Lezpona). Tyler and Carmen are the parents of daughter Emerie and son Camden.
