Robertson Woods Field
Robertson Woods Field is the competition and practice home of the Upper Iowa baseball program. The field was constructed in 1963. Robertson Woods Field is named for the wooded area that sits behind the home dugout down the third base line. The field itself is known for its ability to hold a large amount of water and for how quickly it drains and is ready to play on in the early spring. Robertson Woods Field most recent renovation came in 2018. The fences along the first and third baseline were brought in, in order to move the home and away team bullpens off of the field. The switch was donor funded and vastly improved player safety without limiting the field's dimensions.
Robertson Woods Field went through a major renovation during the summer of 2009. Fences were added from each of the dugouts to the outfield corners to match the existing wood outfield fence. In addition, new netting replaced the old metal backstop vastly improving the safety and vision of spectators. A four-foot high, brick wall was added behind home plate and is the home of two stone renderings of the Peacock baseball logo. A new scoreboard now sits in right centerfield as well and features inning-by-inning scoring. The final major improvement made to the diamond was the infield grass. The infield grass was removed, the ground re-leveled, and then re-sodded. Renovations were also made to the concessions area as well as the restrooms.
