Upper Iowa University Athletics Hall of Fame
Kevin Stahle is being inducted into the Upper Iowa University Athletics Hall of Fame as an athlete. Stahle was a four-year letter winner with the Peacock football team from 1993-1996. Stahle was a major piece of the defense under Head Coach Paul Rudolph as the Peacocks put together the foundation for their success in the late 90’s. Upper Iowa won 17 games in Stahle’s time on the gridiron and the defensive back was named to the All-Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Second Team three times. As a senior in 1996, Stahle led the team in interceptions with five. After graduating from Upper Iowa, Stahle began a career in the agricultural seed industry with Holden’s Foundation Seeds in Williamsburg, Iowa as a research associate in line development of parent stock corn germplasm. Holden’s was purchased by Monsanto shortly after Stahle started and he continued to work at the company for ten years until 2008. In 2008, he transitioned from Monsanto to Dupont/Pioneer Hi-Bred International in Marion, Iowa and he remains with Pioneer to this day, now called Corteva Agriscience, in corn line development and molecular marker research as a senior research associate. Stahle has also farmed with his family since his graduation 22 years ago. He, along with his mother, two older brothers and younger sister, continues to run the farm operation. Together, they raise corn and soybeans on approximately 2,100 acres. Stahle lives on a farm between Solon and Mount Vernon that he has owned since 2005. He has a daughter, Breanne, and a son, Kolten.
