Mike Eischeid graduated from UIU in 1963, and received his M.A. in 1970 from University of Northern Iowa. While at UIU, he was named an N.A.I.A. Little All-American in 1962 and earned I.I.A.C. All-Conference honors three times. He received Upper Iowa letters in football four times, baseball two times and golf two times.

Eischeid has multiple punting records at UIU. Against Luther in 1961, he owned a 55.3 net punting average punting the ball seven different times in that game. In 1962 his punting average was 44.3 yards and over his four-year career, Eischeid held a 42.4 yards per punt average from 1958 to 1962.

Upon graduation, he was on the Vikings taxi squad in 1963, the Bears in 1965, and Chiefs in 1971. He was a member of the active squads for the Oakland Raiders from 1966 to 1971, and the Minnesota Vikings from 1972 to 1974. He played in three Super Bowls, one with the Raiders and two with the Vikings. He also played in seven championship games.
Eischeid is a former teacher and coach in numerous Iowa high schools, and is currently a partner at H & H Distributing Company in West Union, Iowa.
