Travis is being inducted into the Upper Iowa University Athletics Hall of Fame as an Athlete. He was a four year letter winner in baseball for the Peacocks from 1994 to 1997.

Mueller, a two position player for the Peacocks, was named the Iowa Conference MVP as a first basemen in 1996, batting .418 in 21 conference games with 23 RBIs; overall, Mueller hit .331 with 43 RBIs in 50 games. In 1996 Mueller was named 3rd team All-American pitcher, as Upper Iowa won the conference champion, also winning the Central Region and earned their first and only appearance in the NCAA Division III World Series.

In game one of the series Mueller homered as Upper Iowa beat No. 1 ranked Marrietta College 1-0. In game two of the series, Mueller pitched all 10 innings in a 2-1 loss to the eventual champions striking out 11. His 100 strikeouts in 1996 are one shy of the team record. Mueller tallied 180 strikeouts over his four year career. Mueller played under head coach Rick Heller and pitching coach Mark Danker.

Mueller was a graduate of Davenport West High School where he had an outstanding interscholastic baseball career. He obtained his B.S. degree in Conservation Management and has been a Regional Manager for Avery Outdoors for the past seven years. Travis is still active in baseball. Having played in the Frontier League with the Canton Crocodiles, Mueller presently plays for Norway Bandits in the Iowa Valley League. Travis and wife, Julie, have a daughter Amy and currently reside in Swisher, Iowa.
