Allen Albers

Allen "Al" Albers received his B.S. from Upper Iowa University in 1966. In his years at Upper Iowa, he lettered all four years in basketball and three times in baseball. His owns an impressive record as the leading scorer in the IUowa Conference as a junior, while also ranking second on the All-Time Scoring List at UIU (1,365 points). He was named to the I.I.A.C. All-Conference Second Team in 1964, before earning All-Conference First-Team honors in 1965 and 1966. Albers was also named to the N.A.I.A. Little All-American Second Team in 1966.

In the U.S. Army, Albers started on the Fort Knox All-Army Basketball Team. He was sent to California to try out for the National All-Army Team, but was injured while trying out.
Albers’ teaching career includes West Central of Maynard and Norway High School in Norway, Iowa. He was also employed in the credit department of Wilson & Company, Cedar Rapids.

At the present, he and his wife, Ruth  are engaged in farming near his hometown of Keystone, Iowa.
