Marshall Richards is being inducted into the Upper Iowa University Athletics Hall of Fame as an athlete. He was a four-year letter winner in football from 1971 to 1974.
 
Richards quarterbacked the Peacocks football team under his father, George Richards, a1983 Hall of Fame Inductee, and was named first team NAIA. He was also named to the District 15 first team in 1974, as well as All-I.I.A.C. second team as a quarterback in 1974.
 
A 1975 Upper Iowa graduate with a B.S. degree in Physical Education, he completed his intercollegiate football career with his name in the Peacock football record books. He is still third all-time in complete games with 33, seventh in yards passing per game with 382 and seventh in completions in a career with 267; to mention only three of the six all-time lists he is on.
 
A Fayette High School athlete who competed in four sports including football, basketball, baseball and track, he earned various Upper Iowa Conference honors. Upon graduation, his first job was with the Iowa Development Commission along with playing semi-pro football for the Newton Nite Hawks in the Chicago Football League.
 
Richards has had a stellar business career over the last 34 years. In 1986, he joined the Frito Lay, Inc. Division of Pepsi, Co. and through the last 25 years he has had numerous leading positions in the company. Richards’ current position is Director of Sales for the Mountain Region in which he leads a team of 12 managers responsible for growing the Frito Lay business across six states in the southwest. A native of Fayette, he currently resides in Phoenix, Arizona.
