CANTON, Mo. - Upper Iowa women's track and field finished sixth with 44 points at Saturday's Culver-Stockton Wildcat Invitational. Aaliyah Comadore and Gracee Tompkins had the highest finishes of any Peacock, each taking second in their respective events.
Comadore finished second in the long jump at 5.25m (17' 7.25"). That fell .25" short of a school outdoor record and marked her longest outdoor jump this season. She also finished 14th in the 100m with a time of 13.08 seconds.
Tompkins threw an 11.09m (36' 4.75") shot put to take second place. She also took sixth in the discus at 33.26m (109' 2").
Haylie Hutchinson placed fifth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.89 seconds. The junior finished sixth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:09.64. Hutchinson also had a fifth-place finish in the triple jump at 10.97m (36' 0").
Jasheana Tracey took seventh in the 200m with a career-best time of 26.22 seconds. She was also 13th in the 100m at 12.95 seconds. Eryn Sabelka also had a seventh-place finish in the 400m at 1:03.11.
Maya White Eagle finished eighth in the shot put at 10.14m (33' 3.75") and ninth in the javelin at 22.11m (72' 7"). She was 30th in the hammer with a throw of 28.49m (93' 6"). Rio Johnson tallied a 12th-place finish in the javelin at 21.25m (69' 9"). Dereka Henderson finished 20th in the shot put at 8.83m (28' 11.75").
Katie Kraft took ninth in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 13:07.67. Carolina Regalado finished 15th in the 100m at 13.23 seconds and 17th in the 200m at 27.42 seconds. Cheyanna Thompson-Williams was 16th in the 400m at 1:06.84 and 29th in the 200m at 28.97 seconds. Jillian Dodds took 24th in the 200m with a time of 28.33 seconds.
The UIU 4x100m team of Regalado, Dodds, Maile Kehano and Comadore finished fourth with a time of 52.15 seconds. The 4x400m team of Sabelka, Dodds, Kraft and Hutchinson took 10th with a time of 4:25.75.
Washington University (Mo.) won the tournament with 201 team points. GLVC foe Truman State (Mo.) took second with 105.5 points and Central Methodist (Mo.) came in third at 59 points. Quincy (Ill.) placed fourth at 47 points.
The Peacocks have a quick turnaround and compete next at the Coe College Invite on Wednesday, April 22, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
