WAVERLY, Iowa - Haylie Hutchinson broke her own record that she set two weeks ago at the Luther Invitational with a triple jump of 10.99m (36' 00.75") in Saturday's Liz Wuertz Invitational hosted by Wartburg. The junior surpassed her jump of 10.97m (35' 11.89") at the Luther Inviational.
She placed first out of nine competitors in the triple jump. Hutchinson also posted a season-best time of 9.41 seconds in the 60m hurdles to place fifth. She was a part of the 4x400m team with Jillian Dodds, Jasheana Tracey and Eryn Sabelka that finished sixth with a time of 4:14.00.
Aaliyah Comadore posted a personal-best time of 8.08 seconds in the 60m prelims. She finished seventh in the finals with a time of 8.21 seconds. Carolina Regalado also had a season-best time in this event at 8.24 seconds.
Comadore took eighth in the long jump at 5.01m (16' 5.25"), while posting a personal best time of 27.10 seconds to finish 14th in the 200m. Regalado ran the 200m in 28.24 seconds, and Cheyanna Thompson-Williams ran it in 29.96 seconds.
Thompson-Williams hit a personal best in the 400m with a time of 1:08.84. Katie Kraft competed in the 800m and mile. She finished the 800m in 2:45.02 and the mile in 5:55.40. Freshman Naiya Pickett finished 15th in the long jump at 4.18m (13' 8.75").
Gracee Tompkins finished seventh in the shot put with a throw of 11.23m (36' 10.25"). Maya White Eagle placed eighth with a throw of 10.81m (35' 5.75"). Dereka Henderson had a throw of 9.33m (30' 7.5"), and Rio Johnson had a throw of 8.52m (27' 11.5").
The Peacocks compete next at the GLVC Indoor Track and Field Championships in Indianapolis on Saturday, Feb. 28, and Sunday, March 1.
