The Peacocks' (7-6, 0-0 NSIC) string of cancelled games due to the late winter weather in the Midwest has now escalated to ten games after Saturday's double header with St. Cloud State has been stricken from the schedule due to field conditions.
Upper Iowa was slated to face off with the Marauders of the University of Mary in a four-game set to christen the 2013 NSIC season last weekend and were to take the diamond again this past Wednesday in a non-conference double dip with Lewis University. All four games against St. Cloud State that were scheduled for Friday and Saturday this weekend have been cancelled. None of the games will be made up.
Now the Peacocks will set their sites on next week. UIU will be at home on Wednesday, Apr. 3, against the Wolves of Northern State University at noon and then head to Kearney, Neb. for a weekend series against the Lopers of the University of Nebraksa-Kearney on Apr. 6-7.
