FAYETTE, Iowa - Peacock baseball (12-17, 5-7 GLVC) hosts Lewis (Ill.) (12-17, 6-6 GLVC) this week in a GLVC four-game series at Robertson Woods Field. Due to forecasted rain, the series is scheduled to start on Friday, April 3, with a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m. The series will wrap up with a Saturday doubleheader at 11 a.m. as well.Â

LAST TIME OUT
UIndy (16-15, 10-6 GLVC) took three games out of four against the Peacocks this past weekend, winning both games of Saturday's doubleheader on walkoffs. UIU won game one, 4-0, while UIndy won game four, 6-2.
Gabe Olson and Tyler Glowacki combined for the shutout victory in game one. Olson pitched a season-high seven innings while allowing five hits and two walks with five strikeouts. Glowacki earned his first save of the season, allowing no hits, one walk and throwing a strikeout.Â
Gabe Bombardier led the Peacock bats on the weekend with six hits, including two doubles and a home run. He also added four RBIs and walked three times. Jayce Klug, Kyle Hrncir, Brock Zimmer and Thane Meiners each tallied four hits. Hrncir threw a career-high 10 strikeouts on the mound in game three, marking the most by a Peacock pitcher since 2023.Â
STATISTICAL SUMMARY
Meiners leads the team in batting average, slashing .320/.429/.430 with six doubles, a triple and a home run. Jared Hoodjer brought his batting average up to .303 while tallying a team-best .645 slugging percentage. The senior has recorded five doubles and seven home runs this season.Â
Cael Luzum is batting .296 with a team-high 10 doubles, tying for 12th in the conference. Zimmer has a .272 batting average with five doubles and five homers. Bombardier is slashing .262/.358/.458 with nine doubles, four home runs and a team-high 31 RBIs. He's tied for 17th in RBIs in the GLVC.Â
Olson leads the Peacock pitching staff with a 2.58 ERA in 38.1 innings pitched. He has the second-best ERA in the GLVC and is tied for the second-most wins with his 5-1 record. The senior is tied for 13th in the conference in strikeouts with 37.Â
Dylan Hesch has a 4.05 ERA in 26.2 innings pitched with 28 strikeouts. Hrncir is at a 4.26 ERA in 25.1 innings pitched with 32 strikeouts. Isaiah Maes has 21 strikeouts in 24 innings pitched, and Brett Nicodemus has 18 strikeouts in 16.2 innings pitched.Â
AROUND THE GLVC
Maryville (Mo.) (18-10, 12-0 GLVC) remains unbeaten in conference play after sweeping William Jewell (Mo.) (6-21, 2-10 GLVC) this past weekend. Illinois Springfield (22-7, 11-1 GLVC) is one game back after a sweep of Quincy (Ill.) (19-13, 8-8 GLVC).
Missouri S&T (17-10, 10-2 GLVC) is in third and on a conference-best 11-game winning streak. Drury (Mo.) (17-12, 8-4 GLVC) and Missouri-St. Louis (14-14, 8-4 GLVC) are tied for fourth.Â
Connor Bain of Drury earned GLVC Player of the Week honors after knocking three home runs vs. Lincoln (Mo.) (5-19, 0-12 GLVC). Missouri-St. Louis' Eli Cartwright earned Pitcher of the Week after posting a seven-inning no-hitter with 12 strikeouts against Southwest Baptist (Mo.) (13-15, 7-9 GLVC).Â
ABOUT THE FLYERS
The Flyers enter the series after winning three of four games against Truman State (Mo.) (8-21, 2-14 GLVC). Lewis split a series vs. William Jewell and lost three of four against Drury in GLVC play this season.Â
Sophomore Chris Daugherty leads the team, slashing .347/.452/.516 with 10 doubles, two home runs and a team-high 23 RBs. Freshman Constantine Coins is right next to Daugherty, slashing .344/.487/.544 with 10 doubles, one triple and two home runs. He's walked a team-high 25 times and stolen a team-high 11 bases. Â
Alex Chaltin is batting .305 with nine doubles, a triple and a home run during his junior campaign. Tylor Phommachanhom is batting .314, and Kyle Peterson is batting .304. Freshman Jimmy Spellman leads the team in home runs with four, while 12 different Flyer batters have hit a home run this season.Â
On the mound, Jackson Kottmeyer has tallied the most innings pitched with 27. He has an 8.67 ERA and has thrown a team-high 26 strikeouts. Tanner Johnson has pitched 25 innings with a 3.96 ERA, and Vince Gohlke has pitched 24 innings with a 7.13 ERA and 25 strikeouts.Â
