INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) released the all-conference selections on Wednesday for the 2026 softball campaign. Dani Laughlin earned All-GLVC Second Team honors, and Cara Farnam was named as Upper Iowa's representative for the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award. Â
Laughlin becomes the fourth Peacock to collect All-GLVC accolades. Tristin Doster was named to the All-GLVC Second Team in 2025, Serah Shafer to the All-GLVC Third Team in 2025 and Ari Charles to the All-GLVC Third Team in 2024. Laughlin totaled 55 hits, 13 runs scored, 15 RBIs, four stolen bases and three doubles. The redshirt sophomore also slashed .410/.474/.433 on the season.Â
Farnam received the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award, given to a student-athlete who has distinguished herself through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These individuals must also be in good academic standing while also demonstrating good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. Farnam is now eligible to become one of UIU's two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced at the end of the academic year.
The junior from Lincoln, Illinois, recorded 22 hits, four doubles, 13 RBIs, seven runs scored, a triple and a stolen base. Farnam also led the team with two home runs. Additionally, she had pitched 60 innings, striking out 28 batters.Â
