Peacock women's track records seven top-five finishes at Loras Mid-Week

Comadore highlights team with second-place finish; Tracey and Thompson-Williams post personal bests

 DUBUQUE, Iowa - UIU women's track and field began the outdoor season on Tuesday at the Loras Easter Mid-Week Invite. Freshman Aaliyah Comadore had the top individual placing of any Peacock on the day, taking second in the 100m with a time of 12.80 seconds. 

Comadore was also a part of the 4x100m relay team that placed second with a time of 50.18 seconds. She was joined by Carolina Regalado, Jillian Dodds and Jasheana Tracey in the race.

Tracey hit a personal-best mark in the 400m of 1:03.55 to take third in the event. She beat her mark of 1:04.08 earlier this season on Jan. 31 at the Grinnell Invitational. Eryn Sabelka finished fourth with a time of 1:03.73, and Cheyanna Thompson-Williams finished sixth with a personal best time of 1:06.83. The freshman smashed her time of 1:08.84 at the Liz Wuertz Invite to wrap up the indoor season. 

Haylie Hutchinson competed in a team-high three events, placing in the top five in all of them. She finished third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:08.51 and third in the triple jump at 10.97m (36' 0"). The junior took fifth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.22 seconds. 

Regalado, Dodds and Katie Kraft rounded out the running events in the 100m, 200m and 1500m. In the 100m, Regalado took 10th at 13.33 seconds, and Dodds came in 13th at 13.62 seconds. Regalado finished 11th in the 200m with a time of 27.94 seconds, and Dodds placed 13th at 28.06 seconds. Kraft took 12th in the 1500m with a time of 5:35.71. 

Gracee Tompkins, Maya White Eagle and Dereka Henderson each competed in the throwing events. Tompkins took ninth in the shot put with a throw of 11.34m (37' 2.5"), while White Eagle finished 15th at 9.90m (32' 0.75") and Henderson finished 19th at 9.27m (30' 5"). 

White Eagle also competed in the javelin throw, recording a mark of 24.90m (81' 8") to finish in ninth. She and Tompkins each participated in the hammer throw. White Eagle took 24th at 29.07m (95' 4"), and Tompkins took 28th at 25.99m (85' 3"). 

No team scores were kept at the meet. Dubuque had the most first-place finishes in the various events on the women's side with eight, while Loras totaled five first-place finishes. 

The Peacocks have some time off for Easter Break before the St. Mary's Invite on Saturday, April 11, in Winona, Minnesota.
