INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) released the 2026 Preseason Coaches' Poll for men's golf on Tuesday, and UIU was selected 11th in the poll.
The Peacocks were 11 votes ahead of William Jewell (Mo.) in 12th. Quincy (Ill.) took 10th with 52 votes. Upper Iowa received 34 votes in the poll.
Missouri-St. Louis took first in the poll with 136 points and four first-place votes. Defending champions Missouri S&T came in second with 134 points and nine first-place votes. The Miners are coached by Connor Benjamin, who enters his first season as head coach, one year after winning last season as a student-athlete.
Senior Owen Davison leads the Peacocks with a 74.8 scoring average. In the fall, he recorded an eighth-place finish at the Lewis (Ill.) Flyers Fall Invitational. Junior Christian Burkhart posted his career-best two-round score of 146 (+2) at Winona State's The Jewel Invitational.
The Peacocks start the spring season on March 16-17 at the Washburn Invitational at Topeka Country Club. Upper Iowa hosts the UIU Invitational at Sunnyside Country Club in Waterloo on April 3-4. The GLVC Championships are scheduled for April 21-23 at Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru, Indiana.
