FAYETTE, Iowa - Upper Iowa men's and women's golf finishes the fall season at McKendree's (Ill.) Bearcat Dual Gender on Oct. 20-21. The Peacocks will tee off at Far Oaks Golf Club in Caseyville, Illinois. Far Oaks is a par 72 course located just outside of St. Louis, 10 minutes away from the St. Louis Arch.Â
LAST TIME OUT
The Peacocks last competed at Lewis' (Ill.) Flyers Fall Intercollegiate. The Peacock men took ninth place and the women took seventh place.
Owen Davison highlighted the tournament for the men's team, placing eighth with a score of 228 (+12) in the three-round tournament. The eighth-place finish was his best of the season and third-best of his career. Christian Burkhart placed 39th with a total of 240 (+24), and Joseph Grau tied for 44th with a score of 242 (+26).Â
The women were led by senior Lizzy Ellis in 14th with a career-best score of 241 (+25). She shot 79 (+7) in both the second and third rounds, marking her best career individual rounds. Addison Weber took 21st shooting 245 (+29), and Delaney Martin placed 29th with a total of 253 (+37).Â
2024 BEARCAT DUAL GENDER
The Peacock men placed sixth and the women placed eighth at last year's Bearcat Dual Gender. Upper Iowa's men's squad shot 903 (+39) as a team in the three-round tournament. The UIU women's team shot 1,028 (+164).Â
Davison led the men, shooting 222 (+6) over the three-day tournament. He took 13th place individually. Grau came in 26th with a score of 229 (+13) and Burkhart tied for 36th with a score of 231 (+15).Â
On the women's side, Katie Schweer led the team in 23rd with a score of 225 (+9). Weber tied for 43rd, Ellis placed 47th and Martin took 48th.Â
The McKendree men took first place with a team score of 855 (-9). The Drury (Mo.) women won the tournament, totaling a score of 937 (+73).
