FAYETTE, Iowa - Upper Iowa men's golf begins the spring season by competing in the NSIC Preview hosted by Winona State on Monday, March 23, and Tuesday, March 24. The meet will take place at Adam Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs, Missouri. 

FALL RECAP 
The last time UIU played in a tournament was the Bearcat Dual Gender on Oct. 20-21. The team took sixth place with a score of 908. Upper Iowa shot rounds of 297 (+9), 307 (+19) and 304 (+18). They were in second place after the first round, right behind Illinois-Springfield at 295 (+7). 

Owen Davison's best performance came during the Lewis Flyers Invite when he placed eighth after posting a score of 228 (+12). In the tournament, he totaled 10 birdies and an eagle. The graduate shot a season low 67 (-3) in the second round of the Mule, including a hole-in-one on the fourth hole. 

Christian Burkhart placed a season-best 26th with a score of 229 (+13) in the Bearcat Dual Gender. He totaled a team-high four birdies in the first round of the dual. The Urbana native's score of 70 (-2) on day two of the Jewel Invite proved to be a career best. 

Joseph Grau's best finish came when he placed 22nd at Bearcat Dual Gender after scoring 229 (+13). Ethan Cahalan placed a season-best 26th also at the dual, after shooting 230 (+14). William Benedict's best performance also came during the tournament when he placed 35th with a score of 233 (+77).

MEET INFO
The event features 12 teams, with nine from the NSIC. Rockhurst (Mo.) is the only other GLVC team at the tournament. Southwestern Community College from Iowa is also competing. 

The Adams Pointe Golf Club plays at 6,938 yards from the furthest-back blue tees. It is a par-72 course that has been around since 1998. The course has hosted the NSIC Tournament for the last three seasons. 

UP NEXT
The Peacocks travel to Waverly on March 28-29 to tee off in the Wartburg Spring Invitational. UIU then hosts the Upper Iowa Invitational on April 3-4 in Waterloo.
