GRINNELL, Iowa - The Upper Iowa women's track and field team finished eighth out of 15 teams at the Grinnell Invitational on Saturday, scoring 23 points. Haylie Hutchinson finished first in the triple jump while adding a second place finish in the women's 60m hurdles.Â
The junior recorded a triple jump of 10.65m (34' 11.25") to take first with an 11-inch advantage on second place. She also ran a qualifying time of 9.60 seconds in the hurdles and took second place in the finals with a time of 9.78 seconds.
Jasheana Tracey added a personal best in the 400m to take fifth place with a time of 1:04.08. Katie Kraft also had a PR in the mile, running it in 5:52.50 to finish in 16th. Freshman Aaliyah Comadore scored for the Peacocks with an eighth place long jump of 4.70m (15' 5").Â
Comadore also competed in the women's 60m, running it in 8.4 seconds. Senior Carolina Regalado had a personal best in the 60m with a time of 8.42 seconds. In the 400m, Eryn Sabelka finished 11th with a time of 1:06.19 and Cheyanna Thompson-Williams took 14th with a time of 1:10.73.Â
Naiya Pickett took 15th in the long jump at 4.07m (13' 4.25"). In the shot put, Maya White Eagle finished 26th with a throw of 9.31m (30' 6.50") and Rio Johnson took 34th with a throw of 8.28m (27' 2").Â
The Peacocks keep the indoor season rolling next weekend in Decorah at the Luther Invite. Action is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m.
