WAVERLY, Iowa - The Upper Iowa women's golf team started the 2025-26 season with a solid first round, finishing fifth as a team with a score of 317 (+29) at the Wartburg Fall Invitational. Sophomore Addison Weber had a spectacular opening round, shooting 70 (-2) to finish the day tied for first place individually.
Weber smashed her career-best of 78 (+7) at last year's Missouri-St. Louis Invitational. The 70 is 18 strokes better than her average of 88.2 during her freshman campaign. She shot four under par on the first 11 holes.
Weber tied for the tournament lead in birdies and tied for the sixth-most pars with 12. She was one under par on par fives and two under par on par fours.
Brynn Bonefas finished the day tied in 26th, shooting 80 (+8). Delaney Martin is tied for 31st, shooting 81 (+9). Fern Babinski rounded out the team scoring tied for 82nd at 86 (+14).
The Peacocks return to Prairie Links Golf Club on Sunday morning for the second round and conclusion of the Wartburg Fall Invitational.
