OSKALOOSA, Iowa  - Upper Iowa women's golf competed in the William Penn Spring Shootout at the Edmundson Golf Course on Tuesday. The shootout featured one 18-hole round on a par-70 course.

UIU finished second as a team with a score of 341 (+61). Addison Weber won the tournament individually with a score of 77 (+7). She had birdies on holes nine and 15. She finished the round with an 8-foot putt for par on the final hole of the day to win the tournament by a stroke. This marked her first win in her Upper Iowa career. 

"I'm proud of the women today for battling through strong winds up to 45 miles per hour," said head coach Mike Lewis. "It's exciting for Addison winning for her first time in her short career at UIU. She held it together and stuck to her process, making that clutch par shot on the final hole."

Lizzy Ellis tied for sixth, scoring 86 (+16). The senior hit a birdie on hole seven and totaled four pars on the day.

Delaney Martin tied for 10th, shooting 88 (+18). Brynn Bonefas tied for 14th, totaling 90 (+20). Fern Babinski took 16th, shooting 91 (+21). 

Indian Hills CC won the tournament with a score of 329 (+49). Simpson finished one spot behind the Peacocks in third with a score of 349 (+69). 

Indian Hills CC's Jade Blakeley and Mackenzie Reeves tied for second, shooting 78 (+8). Kristen Roe of Simpson and Megan Wilde of Des Moines Area CC tied for fourth, totaling 83 (+13).

Upper Iowa concludes the season at the GLVC Championships on April 17-19 in Peru, Indiana.  The championship is held at the Rock Hollow Golf Club. 

"We're looking forward to next week's GLVC Championship in Indiana," Lewis said. "We will prepare in hopefully good weather conditions this week!"
