PERU, Ind. - The Peacock women's golf team wrapped up their season at the GLVC Women's Golf Championship on April 17-18. The championship was held at Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru, Indiana.
Upper Iowa finished 12th as a team, shooting 1019 (+155). UIU's best round was the third round, when it shot 337 (+49). UIU recorded the fourth-fewest bogeys in the tournament with 105.
Addison Weber placed a team-best 41st with an overall score of 250 (+34). She led the team in birdies with four. The sophomore started the tournament with a birdie on hole 10.
Fern Babinski finished 45th, scoring 252 (+36). Brynn Bonefas tied for 51st, shooting 258 (+42). Bonefas and Babinski tied for a team-high 24 pars. Delaney Martin placed 56th, scoring 259 (+43). Lizzy Ellis tied for 65th, totaling 269 (+53).
UIndy finished first in stroke play with a score of 890 (+26). Indianapolis shot a tournament-best 291 (+3) in round one. Missouri-St. Louis finished second with a score of 910 (+46) and Maryville (Mo.) finished third with a score of 934 (+70). The tournament concludes on Sunday with the top four teams competing in match play to determine the conference champion team.
Ava Ray of UIndy won the tournament individually, shooting 213 (-3). She shot a tournament-low 68 (-4) in the first round. Ray's teammate Paige Giovenco placed second, totaling 220 (+4). Wilma Zanderau of Missouri-St. Louis finished third, scoring 221 (+5).
