Peacocks Conclude 2023 Campaign Versus Dragons and Marauders

THIS WEEK IN PEACOCK TENNIS… The Upper Iowa tennis will wrap up their season this weekend with conference matches against Minnesota State University Moorhead and the University of Mary. They go head-to-head with the Dragons on Saturday, April 15 at 2 p.m. and face the Marauders on Sunday at 9 a.m. This is their last go around in the NSIC before joining the GLVC next season. 
 
PEACOCK HUE REVIEW…  The Peacocks only had one match last week as they went battled with Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo. Upper Iowa fell in a 6-1 decision, dropping to 0-10 on the season while TSU improved to 10-7 for the year. In the singles competition, Upper Iowa picked up one point, but fell in the remainder of their duels. Rafaela Tavares picked up UIU's only win of the day as she defeated Kennidy Shirey in the No. 2 slot with a score of 6-1, 6-1

SCOUTING THE DRAGONS… Minnesota State Moorhead has a 7-9 overall record and are 3-6 in conference play, placing them eighth in the standings. They claimed two of their conference victories in the last two matches they have played, recently defeating Minnesota Crookston (6-1) and Bemidji State (7-0). Tiannah Gu and Shaelyn Johnson lead the team with conference victories as they have both accumulated four on the season. 
 
SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS… The University of Mary is second in the NSIC with a record of 7-2 in conference play and 8-5 overall. They are on a three-match win streak after defeating Southwest Minnesota State (4-0), Bemidji State (6-1) and Minnesota Crookston (5-2). In the No. 4 singles, Hala Hossam Awad has a 12-1 overall record and an 8-0 mark in the conference. Doaa Farouk Mohamed, who competes in No. 2 singles, is 10-2 on the season and 7-0 in conference play.
