LOOKING TO BOUNCE BACK… Upper Iowa started the month very well, tying Southwest Baptist 2-2 before defeated William Jewell 3-2 in their Breast Cancer Awareness Match. Since then, the Peacocks faced a tough schedule and have lost their last three games while being outscored 11-0. Sophomore
Isabelle Wagner has started all but one game for the Peacocks this season, recording the third most saves in the GLVC with 55. Wagner has saved 65.5% of opponent's shots on goal and recorded a shutout against Minnesota-Crookston. The trio of sophomore
Rachyl Benavides, junior
Leah Buerck and freshman
Giovanna Alexa Garcia have scored 70% of the Peacocks goals, highlighted by Benavides' three goals on the season. Benavides, alongside sophomore
Emma Johnston and freshman
Mariangela Meneses have recorded two assists each. Freshman
Haylie Hutchinson recorded all three of her assists on the season in the Peacocks victory over Minnesota-Crookston, which is a team-high. Junior
Katrina Kazluski and freshman
Taylor Young have continued to anchor the Peacocks defensive line with both players playing all 90 minutes in three of UIU's four most recent matches.
GLIMPSE OF THE GREYHOUNDS… Indianapolis has a record of 3-7-3 while going 2-5-2 in GLVC play. Leading the offense is junior Sarah Wegener who leads the team in both goals and assists with three apiece and her nine points are the tenth highest in the GLVC. Senior Stephanie Brady is the only other Greyhound with multiple goals, scoring two on the season while junior Genevieve Crocker joins Wegener as the only other player with multiple assists. Crocker scored a goal and an assist in their victory over West Virginia State, before picking up her second assist against William Jewell. Both of Brady's goals were game-tying goals, which came against Ohio Dominican in the 71
st minute and McKendree in the 72
nd minute. UIndy has started the same trio of defenders all season in senior Maddy Theis, and sophomores Rochelle Maxson and Lyza Shamy. Shamy missed one game this season, but she has played all 90 minutes in the other 12 games. Maxson has played all 90 minutes in 11 of Indianapolis' 13 games, while Theis hasn't spent any game-time on the bench since their season opener. Sophomore Kendall Ellis has started 11 matches in goal, allowing 15 goals while making the sixth most saves in the GLVC with 46. She has saved 75.4% of opponent's shots on target while recording three shutouts on the year.
FANTASTIC FLYERS… Lewis University has had a more successful season going 6-4-4 with a 5-1-3 conference record. Senior Bekah Nielsen has been one of the best goalies in the GLVC, saving 83.6% of opponent's shots on goal which is the third highest in the GLVC. She has recorded the fourth most saves in the conference with 51, while only allowing ten goals. Nielsen has recorded five shutouts this season and has allowed only two goals in Lewis' last six games. Junior Melisa Hadzic and senior Elisa Aguilar have scored over half of the Flyers' goals, with Hadzic scoring five and Aguilar scoring four with two assists. Hadzic scored four goals in a three-game span in the middle of September while Aguilar had a two-goal game over William Jewell and picked up the game-winning assist in their most recent match over Missouri S&T. Both players rank in the top ten for most goals in the GLVC.
