Peacock Women's Lacrosse to Host First Game with Wildcats at Harms-Eischeid Stadium

THIS WEEKEND IN PEACOCK LACROSSE… The Upper Iowa women's lacrosse team is set to host their first home game in program history on Sunday in Fayette. UIU will welcome the Wildcats of Northern Michigan University to kick off both their home and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schedules. The Peacocks and Wildcats will face off at 2 p.m. inside Harms-Eischeid Stadium.

LIVE OPTIONS… Fans that can't make it to Fayette for the home game can follow along with a couple of live options provided by the UIU Sports Communication office. Live stats and a webcast will be provided for all four games. Fans can follow the links above or visit UIUPeacocks.com/Live on gameday to access the live options.

DIGITAL GAMEDAY PROGRAM… Fans can access an interactive and digital gameday program for this weekend's game at any time at UIUPeacocks.com/Programs. The digital programs are available to fans both at our games in Fayette and those at home watching or following the action. QR Codes will be located around the facility to scan with your cell phone's camera that will link you directly to the specific digital gameday program.

FRONT OF THE LINE… Sophomore Maya Chesky leads the Peacock offense with five goals through two matches, while Morgynn Spears has notched three and Bailee Fabert and McKenzie Mohlencamp each have two goals apiece. Chesky's hat trick in the season opener set the program's high mark for goals in a game. The team's eight scores against Missouri Western State University also set a new high mark in the program's short history.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS… Northern Michigan enters the Sunday game with an overall record of 7-2 and a GLIAC mark of 1-0. The Wildcats are on a five-match win streak and are coming off a 16-11 win at Concordia University, St. Paul on Friday night. The win streak began with a 14-12 win at Missouri Western State to open the month of March. NMU is averaging over 14 goals per game, while their defensive is allowing just over 10 goals per game to their opponents. Madline Bittell leads the offense with 39 points thanks to 30 goals and nine assists, while Maddi Bast has tallied 24 goals and one assist.

UP NEXT… The Peacocks continue their opening run through the GLIAC next weekend with a pair of matches along the western lakefront of Michigan. Upper Iowa will take on Davenport University on Friday, Mar. 25 at 5:30 p.m. in Grand Rapids before heading to Grand Valley State University on Sunday, Mar. 27 at 12 p.m. in Allendale.
