This Weekend in Peacock Lacrosse… Upper Iowa is in St. Joseph, Mo. for a second non-conference game on Saturday at 7 p.m. The Peacocks will challenge the Griffons of Missouri Western State University. Upper Iowa lost their first game of the season at Quincy (28-4), while MWSU comes into the game with a 1-4 record overall.

Maya Chesky scored three goals in UIU's opener at Quincy. The three goals marked the first of her career and set a new program-high, albeit through two games, for goals scored in a game. Chesky's hat trick surpassed three Peacocks,

Paige Nicklaus, and
Kaylin Mertens, that scored two goals apiece in Upper Iowa's inaugural game at Quincy in 2020 prior to the pandemic shutdown.
Scouting the Griffons… Missouri Western State is averaging 6.6 goals per game this season on offense, while allowing 9.4 to their opponents. Sam Pruitt leads the team in goals (8) and shots (17), while Madison Brady has added 7 scores on 16 shots. In goal, Mackenzie Porter has made 43 saves and is posting a .483 save percentage.
