THIS WEEKEND IN PEACOCK WOMEN'S SOCCER… As the season is wrapping up, women's soccer finds themselves under the lights for one last home match in their two game weekend. Upper Iowa starts off in competition with Augustana University on Friday at 6 p.m. at Harms-Eischeid Stadium. They then travel to Wayne, Neb. to take on Wayne State College. Kick off is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m.

PEACOCK HUE REVIEW... In their two most recent matches, Upper Iowa fell to Northern State 1-0 and drew a 1-1 tie with Minnesota State University Moorhead. This shifted their overall record to 2-9-4 and their conference record to 1-7-4. Against the Wolves, the game was scoreless until the 17:53 mark. NSU broke down the left hand side and their first shot parried into the middle of the goal, but was not successful. The second attempt in the mixture was deflected into the goal from close range, giving the Wolves a 1-0 advantage. Later on, with the game still poised at 1-0, Upper Iowa handled the ball in the box. In turn, Northern State stepped up to take the penalty.
Isabelle Wagner was equal to the shot, diving to her right and securing the save to keep the score at 1-0. This would be her second penalty save of the season. The Peacocks continued their efforts to tie the game, but to no avail.
Against MSU Moorhead, the Dragons were first to strike in the contest. At the 9:27 mark, they took advantage of a corner kick and headed it into the back of the UIU net for the 1-0 lead. In the 79th minute, the Peacocks prevailed with a corner kick that made its way towards the Dragons' box.
Katie Samuels connected with it and dished to
Katrina Kazluski who found the back of the net to tie up the match 1-1. This was Kazluski's first goal of the season.The two teams battled it out for the remaining time on the clock, but the score held 1-1 for the entirety of the match.
ANALYZING AUGUSTANA… Augustana holds an overall record of 7-6-2 and a conference record of 7-4-1. They are currently in fourth place in the NSIC. In their two most recent matches, the Vikings suffered a 2-0 loss to St. Cloud State and defeated Minnesota Duluth 1-0. They have scored a total of 28 goals and have only allowed their opponents 16. The Vikings have three girls that have scored five goals so far this season: Josie Arduser, Morgan Keirstead and Sylvia Fehr. Jillian Barkus has been in goal for Augustana and has played a total of 1,350 minutes on the season so far. She has tallied 63 saves on the year.
WEIGHING WAYNE STATE… Wayne State is 2-9-4 (2-7-3 GLIAC) on the season. In their most recent matches, the Wildcats fell to Minnesota Duluth 1-0 and then dropped to St. Cloud State 1-0. They are looking for their first win since Oct. 2 against the University of Sioux Falls. Wayne State is led in scoring by Annika Syvrud with three goals on the year so far.
TAILORED TIMELINE… The Peacocks play their last regular season game on the road versus Winona State University. Upper Iowa will travel to Minnesota on Thursday, Oct. 27. Kick off with the Warriors is scheduled for 5 p.m.
