Getting to know UIU Tennis’ Deimante Krivickaite

In today's virtual interview, Pete the Peacock gets to know UIU tennis’ Deimante Krivickaite. Originally from Vilnius, Lithuania, Deimante is a sophomore who came to Fayette two years ago from Vilnius Lyceum. She is majoring in finance.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the cancellation of the spring season, the Upper Iowa Athletics Department is spending the next few months spotlighting many of our Peacock student-athletes whose spring seasons came to a premature end.
 
In today's virtual interview, Pete the Peacock gets to know UIU tennis' Deimante Krivickaite. Originally from Vilnius, Lithuania, Deimante is a sophomore who came to Fayette two years ago from Vilnius Lyceum. She is majoring in finance.

PETE: What made you want to be a collegiate student-athlete?        
DEIMANTE: I wanted to get a degree and keep playing the sport I love

PETE: What have you learned about what it takes to be a student-athlete?          
DEIMANTE: It takes discipline, time management and hard work

PETE: What is your favorite way to de-stress?      
DEIMANTE: I like to scream at people

PETE: What advice would you give to your 14-year old self?   
DEIMANTE: People will come and leave (get in peace with that)

PETE: What is something most people don't know about you?          
DEIMANTE: I can speak five languages

PETE: What is your favorite thing about your hometown?       
DEIMANTE: The diversity

PETE: How do you want to be remembered?        
DEIMANTE: As a hard-working person

PETE: What's the best thing that has happened to you in the last week?   
DEIMANTE: I finished my classes

PETE: What are the top three things on your bucket list?         
DEIMANTE: Go to Madagascar, learn German, and get a German Shepherd and name him Adolf

PETE: What is your dream job if money wasn't a factor? Why?
DEIMANTE: Pro tennis player (I always wanted to be one)

PETE: Who are three people (dead or alive) you'd love to have dinner with? Why?       
DEIMANTE: My grandfather (he died too early and I wish he could get to know me right now rather than the little girl), David Bowie (I love his music), Winston Churchill (I find him very interesting)

PETE: What is your most memorable sports moment?  
DEIMANTE: Winning my first tournament when I was 12

PETE: What fictional character (movie, TV show, book, cartoon, etc.) would you want to be for a day? Why?     
DEIMANTE: Severus Snape because I'm a Slytherin

PETE: What is your favorite home cooked meal? 
DEIMANTE: Cold beetroot soup

PETE: Do you have any collections? If so, what?  
DEIMANTE: Only photos

PETE: What is your dream vacation spot? Why? What would you want to do there?     
DEIMANTE: Juodkrante, I used to spend my childhood summers there - I wish I could go back there to jump over the waves of the Baltic Sea

PETE: What piece of clothing do you wear the most?    
DEIMANTE: PJs

PETE: If you were president for a day, what would you change?        
DEIMANTE: Free education, required math courses (including Calculus), and the requirement to learn a second language from the start of the elementary school

PETE: What is your favorite restaurant in the world? What do you order? 
DEIMANTE: Hard Rock Cafe - Original Legendary

PETE: What does your dream life after retirement look like?  
DEIMANTE: Travelling the world with my sisters

PETE: What is your favorite non-sport hobby?     
DEIMANTE: Competitive sleeping

PETE: What are three things you cannot live without? Why?  
DEIMANTE: Air, water, and the Earth (I would basically die without them)

PETE: Where or who do you get your inspiration from?
DEIMANTE: Pinterest

DEIMANTE: Tennis instructor

DEIMANTE: My tennis rackets

DEIMANTE: I am pretty decent at giving manicures
