This week in Peacock Tennis… The UIU women's tennis team will return to the courts this weekend for a pair of duals in Moorhead, Minnesota. The Peacocks will take on the UMary Marauders on Friday afternoon at 1:00pm before facing the hosts MSU Moorhead Dragons on Saturday at 11:00am. Deimante Krivickaite will keep her out of action.
Weekend Recap… The Peacocks are coming off a pair of losses last weekend in Winona, Minnesota. UIU dropped a both of their NSIC contests against the USF Cougars and the Augustana Vikings. Augie swept the Peacocks 7-0 while the Cougars topped UIU 4-1. Freshman
Maryke Badenhorst scored UIU's lone point in No. 2 singles with a 6-2, 7-5 win.
Scouting the Marauders… The UMary tennis team split last weekend's duals against UM Crookston and Bemidji State. The Maruaders swept the Golden Eagles on Friday 7-0 but narrowly dropped their contest against the Bemidji State Beavers 3-4. UMary won all three of their doubles matches against the Beavers but won just two of their six singles matches, falling to Bemidji 3-4. Last weekend the Marauders' Tasha Dembo was named NSIC Player of the Week after going 2-0 in No. 1 singles and 2-0 in No. 1 doubles.
Scouting the Dragons… The Dragons are coming into the weekend's duals on a five game win streak, most recently with wins over Bemidji State and a sweep of UM Crookston. The Moorhead Tennis team has posted a 7-1 record this season with their lone loss coming at the hands of Augustana.
Up Next… The Peacocks will take a three-week hiatus before returning to the courts in Winona, Minnesota to take on the WSU Warriors and UM Crookston Golden Eagles in a pair of NSIC competitions.
