Upper Iowa took to the courts for their first team dual of the year at the University of Dubuque and came out on top 5-2. The Peacocks claimed all three doubles matches to earn a point and then posted wins in four of the six singles matches for the victory.

Shakhnaza Zhantova and
Maryke Badenhorst teamed up for a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles.
Deimante Krivickaite and
Lavanya Singh paired together to win the No. 2 doubles match 6-3 and
Lara Peco and
Chelsea Scott closed out the sweep with a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles.

In singles matches, Zhanatova scored a 6-2, 6-1 win over Ashley Quinonez at No. 1, while Badenhorst and Krivickaite both posted 6-1, 6-0 wins at No. 2 and No. 3 over Naomi Amani and Madeline Parker.

The Spartans broke through with wins at No. 4 and No. 5 as Megan Ranney defeated Peco 6-4, 6-4 and Singh withdrew due to injury while facing Hailey Wang.

The final win of the match came at No. 6 when
Meghan Klein defeated Kyra Jernigan 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (10-8).

The teams played one exhibition singles match as well.
Chelsea Scott won the bout 6-2, 6-0 over Patient Jabbah.

Upper Iowa will wrap up their fall schedule at the ITA Regionals in Oklahoma City, Okla. from Thursday-Sunday, Sept. 27-30.
