The Peacock cross country team competed at the NCAA Central Regional in Joplin, Mo. on Saturday at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course on the campus of Missouri Southern State University. Upper Iowa finished 34th overall as a team.
The University of Mary won the regional for the third straight year boasting the five runners in the top 15 including three of the first four finishers. Jaiden Schuette won the individual title over teammate Emily Roberts by 3.8 seconds. Schuette finished her 6K in 20:52.5.
Upper Iowa's runners totaled a time of 2:10:25 while averaging a time of 26:05.
Serianna Dehmlow led the Peacocks and placed 145
th in a time of 24:44.9 averaging each kilometer in 3:52.9.
Alyssa Weber placed 181
st with a time of 25:30.5, while
Eliza Parish finished 204
th with a time of 26:17.1.
Sidney Schnor placed 208
th crossing the line in 26:27.7 and
Christonna Shafranski placed 224
th in a time of 27:24.6.
Sammantha Larisch (227
th – 27:37.8) and
Cyan McGee (228
th – 28:01.3) also raced for Upper Iowa.
