FAYETTE, Iowa – Upper Iowa women's cross-country races in the 42
nd annual GLVC Championships on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in Romeoville, Illinois. The meet will take place at Lewis's cross-country course.
LAST TIME OUT
Eryn Sabelka received a medal after she placed sixth with a time of 21:56.2.
Lisbeth Trinidad-Valerio finished second on the team with a time of 27:03.0, while
Cheyanna Thompson-Williams had a time of 27:54.0 and
Rio Johnson had a time of 31:01.9.
Jasheana Tracey made her season debut for UIU and completed the course in 29:25.4.
ABOUT THE GLVC CHAMPIONSHIP
The meet will be available to watch live on the GLVC Sports Network. The top 20 individual finishers will receive All-GLVC honors, the winner of the meet will be named GLVC Runner of the Year and the top-finishing freshman will earn GLVC Freshman of the Year honors.
2024 GLVC CHAMPIONSHIP
Upper Iowa finished with 422 points.
Eryn Sabelka had the fastest time for the Peacocks with 26:59.7.
Lewis won their third-straight championship with a record low 15 points. South Baptist took second with 77 points and Truman State took third with 82 points.
Hannah Smrcka of Lewis won the meet with a time of 21:13.23 and was named GLVC Runner of the Year and Lyric Ford of Maryville took home GLVC Freshman of the Year with a time of 23:10.21.
Lewis head coach, James Kearney, was named GLVC Coach of the Year.
