The Peacocks will face the Huskies on Friday, Oct. 12 at 3 p.m. and the Bulldogs on Sunday, Oct. 14 at noon.

THIS WEEKEND IN PEACOCK WOMEN'S SOCCER… Upper Iowa (2-9-1, 1-7-1 NSIC) welcomes St. Cloud State University (5-4-3, 5-2-2 NSIC) and University to Minnesota Duluth (5-6-1, 4-4-1 NSIC) to Pattison Field this weekend for a pair of NSIC matchups. The Peacocks will face the Huskies on Friday, Oct. 12 at 3 p.m. and the Bulldogs on Sunday, Oct. 14 at noon. Both matches can be broadcast live on KCRG-TV 9.2 and can be streamed through the Stretch Internet app on Roku and Amazon Fire devices, as well as Apple and Android televisions.

LAST WEEKEND AT PATTISON FIELD… The Peacocks found themselves in a pair of overtime contests that resulted in a loss and a tie. Upper Iowa and Wayne State College battled to a scoreless tie at the end of regulation on Friday afternoon, but the Wildcats closed the game just a minute into overtime to claim the 1-0 road victory over the Peacocks. On Sunday afternoon, the Peacocks led 1-0 until the final minute of regulation when the Vikings scored the equalizer with 23 seconds left on the clock to force extra time. UIU's score came from Haley Ramberg in the 55th minute when she cashed in Laura Murray's high-flying shot from the left side that goalkeeper Meghan Kuntz had to jump up and knock down with one hand. The ball landed right in front of the goal line and took a nice hop which allowed Ramberg the opportunity to tap it in for the score. Despite a tremendous defensive game by Upper Iowa, Augustana was able to rally back and force overtime in the 90th minute. In an overtime setting that both teams had found themselves in on Friday afternoon, neither team could find the back of the net for the redemption victory.

SHORT END OF THE STICK… The Peacocks have found themselves on the unlucky side of one-goal games, dropping six thus far to mark the most in program history since 2010 when UIU fell in five. The Peacocks have struggled to find second half momentum as they have allowed 11 goals while only scoring two. Seven of the opponents' second half goals have been allowed in the first 22 minutes of the second period and two have been given up in the final minute of regulation – five of those serving as game-winners. UIU started the season with all scores coming in the first 35 minutes of play but has spread out its offense to score three of the last four goals outside that time frame. The Peacocks are 2-0-1 when they have scored or held opponents scoreless in the second half.

ABOUT THE OPPONENTS…

vs. ST. CLOUD STATE… The Huskies (5-4-3, 5-2-2 NSIC) are coming off a pair of NSIC shutouts against Minnesota State University Moorhead (1-0 OT) and Northern State University (2-0) and currently sit 4th in the conference. Prior to last weekend, SCSU posted conference wins over Minnesota Duluth (2-1 OT), University of Minnesota Crookston (1-0) and Wayne State (2-1 OT). The Huskies have found themselves in six overtime matches this season and have yet to fall in extra time (3-0-3). Hannah Marion leads the team with 14 points after scoring on seven occasions this season – including all three of the Huskies' goals last weekend to earn NSIC Offensive Player of the Week honors. Maria Witte has contributed three goals, Maria Kass has added two, and the trio of Nicole Friis, Kelli Santo Paulo, and Monica Majeski have each recorded a pair of assists. Zoe Welsh, NSIC Goalkeeper of the Week, has played 11 straight games for the Huskies, recording 48 saves along the way for a 1.10 goals against average.

THE SERIES… UIU leads the all-time series 4-3-4 against the Huskies despite dropping two of the last three contests. The Peacocks earned their first win over SCSU in 2012 with a 1-0 decision and have tied with the Huskies more than any other Northern Sun opponent. Six of the ten games in the series have gone to extra minutes with each team recording one victory. In the tight series, UIU claims the biggest point differential with a 5-1 win in 2013 and have outscored the Huskies 14-10 since the series began in 2008.

vs. UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA DULUTH… The Bulldogs (5-6-1, 4-4-1 NSIC) find themselves at the bottom end of the top-8 teams in the conference standings after defeating Northern State (2-0) and Minnesota State University Moorhead (2-0) in last week's action. All five of UMD's wins have been shutouts with fellow NSIC members Augustana (1-0) and University of Minnesota Crookston (3-0) falling victim. UMD has both scored and allowed 12 goals this season with multiple scores from Nan Glinsek (3), Julia Osborne (2), and Natalie St Martin (2). Glinsek and Osborne have also recorded a pair of assists but trail Lizzy Fontes at the top of the leaderboard with three. Twenty individuals have contributed to UMD's shot count (197) that ranks t-3rd in conference standings. Sisley Ng and Carlye Wright have split time protecting the Huskies' net and have combined for 53 saves and a 0.98 goals against average. UMD will face Winona State on Friday afternoon.

THE SERIES… The Peacocks trail the all-time series 4-6-0 but have won four of the last six contests against the Bulldogs. In 2017, UMD came back to defeat the Peacocks in overtime after scoring the golden goal in the 105th minute. The loss broke the Peacocks' three game shutout streak against the Bulldogs.
