Upper Iowa (4-10-1, 4-8-1 NSIC) will play their final two games of the 2017 season this weekend as they host the No. 20 Mavericks of Minnesota State on Friday and head to Concordia-St. Paul on Sunday.

THIS WEEKEND IN PEACOCK WOMEN'S SOCCER... Upper Iowa (4-10-1, 4-8-1 NSIC) will play their final two games of the 2017 season this week as they match up with a pair of NSIC opponents. The Peacocks will host the No. 20 Mavericks of Minnesota State University on Friday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. for their final game at Pattison Field. The team will then head to St. Paul, Minn. on Sunday for the season finale at Concordia University, St. Paul at 1 p.m.

SPLITTING ON THE ROAD... The Peacocks played in a pair of 2-1 games last weekend on the road at MSU Moorhead and Northern State. Upper Iowa defeated the MSUM Dragons behind goals from Jordyn Ostrowski and Birgit Rijnders. Rijnders' game-winner came in the 75th minute to break the 1-1 tie. Sunday's result was a tough one for the Peacocks, as they dominated the match in shot attempts, 37-5, but lost in overtime, 2-1. UIU tied the match in the second half, but in the 99th minute in overtime, the home team found a way to get the win. UIU outshot their opponents 54-12 on the weekend.

THE SERIES... UIU is 7-7 all-time in 14 meetings with the Golden Bears after dropping home decisions each of the last two seasons. The Peacocks had won the previous four matchups from 2011-14 by a combined 12-1, but CSP has rallied to tie the series the last two years. Upper Iowa is 1-8-2 all-time against the Mavericks, with the lone win coming in 2010. The two teams have also met twice in the post-season with both games coming in Mankato, Minn. after the 2013 and 2014 seasons. UIU lost 4-1 in the second round of the NSIC Tournament in 2013, and 1-0 in the second round in 2014.

TEAM LEADERS... Ostrowski leads the squad in scoring this season, as she has scored five goals on the year for a total of 10 points. Rachel Fowler has three scores and an assist for a total of seven points, while Corel Carmichael and Rijnders have each registered a pair of goals this season. Rijnders leads the team in shot attempts with 54, while Ostrowski follows with 32. Sonia Fernandez has added 24 shots, while Carmichael has 18.
