The Upper Iowa tennis team split the weekend in Sioux Falls, S.D. as the Peacocks beat the Sioux Falls Cougars 5-4 on Saturday, then fell to the Augustana Vikings 9-0 on Sunday.
 
In the 5-4 win over the Cougars, Upper Iowa won the top four singles matches, including a tight match at No. 4 singles where Jemina Linn Sorman won 7-6, 7-6. Saki Kawabata battled to victory at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-4, while Isabella Sella cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 2. Kelly Jachymowski picked up the victory at No. 3 singles with a 6-3, 6-2 win. In doubles play, the Peacocks No. 1 team of Kawabata and Jachymowski picked up the 8-6 win.
 
In a battle of undefeated NSIC teams, the Peacocks fell 9-0 to the Vikings of Augustana.
 
The Peacocks will look to wrap up second place in the NSIC regular season standings next weekend, April 9-10, when they head to Winona, Minn. for a pair of matches against U-Mary and MSU Moorhead. The Northern Sun Conference tournament will be played April 23-24 at the Lifetime Fitness Oakdale in Minnetonka, Minn.
