The Peacock tennis team improved to 4-1 on the year and remained undefeated in the Northern Sun Conference at 3-0 with a 7-2 victory over the Mavericks of Minnesota State University, Mankato on Saturday in Sioux Falls, S.D.
 
UIU earned two victories in three competitive doubles matches, with the No. 1 and No. 3 duos from UIU picking up 8-4 victories. 
 
In singles competition, Upper Iowa took five of the six matches and the lone loss came in a tie breaker at No. 3.  Kelly Jachymowski won at No. 4 singles in a tie breaker, winning the extra game 10-4. Reigning NSIC Player of the Week Saki Kawabata won her match at No. 1 and surrendered just two games in the victory, 6-2, 6-0. 
 
The Peacocks will be back on the court tomorrow at 4 p.m. against Southwest Minnesota State University in at the Huether Family Match Pointe Tennis Center.
