The Peacock tennis team improved to 2-1 on the year and picked up their first win in the Northern Sun Conference season with a 9-0 shutout of the Golden Eagles of Minnesota Crookston on Friday in Grand Forks, N.D.  
 
UIU won all three doubles matches with the closest match taking place at #1. Saki Kawabata and Kelly Jachymowski outlasted their opponents for the 8-3 victory.  Upper Iowa dominated the doubles matches at #2 and #3, surrendering just one game between the two.

In singles competition, Upper Iowa swept the six matches and were decisive in all six. The Peacocks allowed the Golden Eagles to win just eight total games, with four at the #1 singles and four at #2, while not allowing UMC to win a game from #3 to #6 singles.  

The Peacocks will be back on the court tomorrow against Bemidji State University in Grand Forks, N.D.
