Upper Iowa took to the courts at the Clark Racquet Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Saturday afternoon and earned a 6-3 win over the Kohawks of Coe College. The dual marked a match up of former Iowa Athletic Conference foes prior to UIU's move up to NCAA Division II nine years ago.

The Peacocks had a 2-1 lead after the doubles competition thanks to wins at #1 (8-6) by Saki Kawabata and Iris Verweij and at #3 (9-7) by Kelly Jachymowski and Anna Okolot.  Coe College got the victory at #2 over Yamit Vodavoz and Victoria Kulbokas.

In singles action, Upper Iowa won four of the six matches with victories by Verweij and Kawabata at #1 and #2, as well as victories at #5 and #6 by Kulbokas and Jachymowski.  Coe won a pair of third set tiebreakers at #3 and #4 to pick up their two wins.

The Peacocks end the season at 13-5 and now will prep for the NSIC Championships next weekend.  UIU, the #2 seed, will take on the University of Mary, the #7 seed, at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Apr. 25.
