The Peacock tennis team improved to 10-4 overall and 8-0 in the Northern Sun Conference with a 7-2 victory over the University of Sioux Falls in Winona, Minn. on Saturday afternoon. Upper Iowa dropped two of the three doubles matches to the Cougars, but bounced back by sweeping the six singles matches to remain undefeated in the NSIC.

Saki Kawabata combined for a victory at number one doubles (8-4)
to improve to 8-0 as a pairing. Sioux Falls won the doubles matches at number two and three.
Upper Iowa dominated the singles matches at numbers one through four thanks to big efforts from Verweij, Kawabata, Yamit Vodavoz and Anna Okolot. Victoria Kulbokas and Kelly Jachymowski both dropped a set, but rallied to win the tiebreakers and secure wins at number five and six for the Peacocks.The Peacocks will return to the courts in Winona, Minn. on Sunday morning at 9 a.m. for a match up with the Vikings of Augustana College. The matchup is a meeting of the two undefeated teams in the Northern Sun and the winner will take control of the NSIC Championship chase.
