The Peacock women's tennis team opened the spring season today against NCAA Division I foe Creighton University. Upper Iowa battled hard but today was the Bluejay's day as the Creighton proved too much and posted the 7-0 win.
While the Peacocks didn't win a set, they won four games at the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles pairings and three games at the No. 3 doubles. In singles, the Peacocks
Victoria Kulbokas and
Kelly Jachymowski each forced a set to go to 12 games, with UIU ending up on the wrong end of a 7-5 set.
Upper Iowa will return to action tomorrow in Waterloo when they take on another NCAA Division I in-state opponent in Northern Iowa. The action between the Peacocks and Panthers will begin at 2 p.m.
