After starting the season with a pair of match sweeps, Upper Iowa faces off with Minnesota State and Southwest Minnesota State at the Winona Tennis Center. UIU battles the Mavericks on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. before taking on the Mustangs on Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
Last weekend, the Peacocks strong-armed the competition, defeating both Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State 9-0. The sweep of the Golden Eagles on Saturday, Feb. 14, was the first for UIU since a 9-0 sweep of Bemidji State on April 7, 2013. The Peacocks then completed the weekend sweep with a 9-0 drubbing of the Beavers. UIU won 30 of the 31 total sets played over the weekend and dropped just 22 of the 201 total games.
 
Iris Verweij won her No. 1 singles matches, losing just one game. Kelly Jachymowski won both of her No. 6 singles matches without dropping a game. Both the No. 2 (Victoria Kulbokas and Yamit Vodavoz) and No. 3 (Anna Okolot and Jachymowski) won both days without surrendering a game.
