The Peacocks open the conference season this weekend against the Golden Eagles of Minnesota Crookston and the Beavers of Bemidji State. Both matches will take place in Winona, Minn., with UIU facing off against UMC on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. and BSU on Sunday at 9 a.m.

Last weekend, the Peacocks took the court for the first time this spring against Creighton and Northern Iowa in Waterloo, Iowa. UIU lost 7-0 to the Bluejays and 6-1 to the Panthers, falling to 2-3 this year.
Kelly Jachymowski went 1-1 at No. 6 singles for Upper Iowa against the two NCAA DI opponents. She earned a 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-5) win over Savanna Hunt of the University of Northern Iowa on Sunday. The doubles pairing of
Iris Verweij and
Saki Kawabata picked up the only other win of the weekend with a 6-2 win over the No. 1 doubles team from Northern Iowa.

This year, Kawabata and Jachymowski share the best singles record for the Peacocks at 3-2. Kawabata has picked up a win at the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 spot, while Jachymowski is 3-1 while playing in the No. 6 position. Verweij is 2-3 this season, with a win at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles.
