The Peacocks couldn't have asked for a better way to start their spring break trip in Florida. UIU jumped all over the Fighting Bees of St. Ambrose University and were nearly perfect en route to a 6-3 non-conference victory. The win improves Upper Iowa's overall record to 8-6 this year and snaps a two-game skid.Â

At # 1 doubles,
Iris Verweij and
Victoria Kulbokas took care of business early to get the team rolling. The duo earned an 8-1 victory and improved their doubles' record to 3-2 together this season.
Saki Kawabata and
Kelly Jachymowski then one-upped their doubles counterparts by posting a flawless 8-0 victory at #2. The Peacocks dropped the final point by default, but UIU still headed into singles play with a 2-1 lead.
Kawabata and Jachymowski continued their dominant play in solo competition as each posted a pair of 6-0 victories. Kawabata earned the sweep at #2 singles and Jachymowski capped her perfect day with the sweep at #4 singles. Verweij and Kulbokas also swept their opponents in two sets. After giving up two games in the first set, Verweij at #1 singles bounced back with a convincing 6-0 victory in the second set to earn the win. Kulbokas clinched the UIU victory on the day with a pair of 6-2 victories at #3.Â
