The Peacock tennis team will return to the courts for a busy weekend of action. Upper Iowa plays against NSIC-foe Minnesota State on Saturday, Mar. 23, at 1 p.m. and will then battle against Gustavus Adolphus in a non-conference affair at 5:30 p.m. Both duals will take place in St. Peter, Minn.
UIU will then have to head back to Iowa quickly for a match against Coe College in Cedar Rapids on Sunday, Mar. 24, at noon. The Peacocks and Kohawks used to meet regularly prior to Upper Iowa’s move up to NCAA Division II when they were a member of the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Upper Iowa is currently 3-7 overall and 3-3 in the NSIC.
Karli Loewecke has posted the fourth best record at #1 singles in NSIC matches with a 5-1 record.
Paige Olson’s 3-3 mark in conference play at #2 singles ranks sixth, while
Nicole Pothen has earned a 5-1 mark in the NSIC for the fifth best record at #3 singles. In doubles play, Loewecke and Olson have combined for a 5-1 mark at #1 (third best), while Pothen and
Rosangel Espinoza are sixth best at #2 with a 3-3 record.
