Results vs. Abraham Baldwin || Results vs. ASA College
The Upper Iowa tennis team traveled to Orlando, Florida over spring break and competed twice, while having two matches cancelled due to weather. The Peacocks lost both matches in the Sunshine State. UIU dropped a 7-2 decision to Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College on Mar. 12 before losing to ASA College by a 9-0 count on Mar. 14.
Matches versus Wayne State University and Northwood University were both cancelled on the trip.
Karli Loewecke and
Paige Olson went 1-1 at #1 doubles earning an 8-6 victory over Magaret Dowling and Lorraine Chon-Qui of Abraham Baldwin, while
Rosangel Espinoza claimed the lone singles victory at #4 against over Melissa Eligio of ABAC. Both Olson and
Nicole Pothen lost hard-fought matches at #2 and #3 singles.
ASA College dominated the matches in their dual with Upper Iowa surrendering only 14 games to the Peacocks.
The team will return to the courts this weekend in St. Peter, Minn. when they challenge both Minnesota State and Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday, Mar. 23. The Peacocks will then hurry back to Cedar Rapids, Iowa for a match with Coe on Sunday, Mar. 24.
