Upper Iowa lost a high-powered showdown, 6-3, to #31 Augustana on Saturday night in Winona, Minn. The Vikings rallied during singles play to claim the win.  The loss was UIU’s second straight in Northern Sun play as UIU’s record falls to 2-2 in the NSIC and 3-4 overall.

The Peacocks grabbed a 2-1 lead after the doubles action thanks to a win at #1 by Amanda Nunez and Karli Loewecke and at #3 by Courtney Romer and Jennah Smith.  

The Vikings rallied in singles though winning five of the six matches.  Each team won one match thanks to a third-set tiebreaker, but the other four wins went to the Viking players in straight sets.  Romer was the lone Peacock to post a victory in singles; the senior from Maquoketa, Iowa claimed her win at #4.
 
Upper Iowa will face MSU Moorhead in the final dual of the weekend on Sunday morning in Winona, Minn.
