The Peacock tennis program measured themselves against a pair of NCAA Division I foes today. Upper Iowa lost a pair of 9-0 decisions to the Bulldogs of Drake University and the Grizzlies of the University of Montana. After the two losses, Upper Iowa is now 3-2 overall this spring, but the team still remains 2-0 in NSIC matches.
"I am proud of the way the team competed today; they played hard. Each match was much
closer than the scores would suggest; there were a lot of deuce points played," said Head Coach Jacque Doll. "Both of these teams have great programs and it was so much fun to see our girls fight! We definitely got better playing against this high level competition."
The team will return to play in the Northern Sun Conference next weekend with duals against Winona State, Augustana and MSU Moorhead on consecutive day next Friday through Sunday, Mar. 2-4. The Peacocks will then head to Orlando, Fla. for spring break from Mar. 6-9. UIU will face five opponents down south including a NSIC match against Wayne State to wrap up their trip.
