FAYETTE, Iowa - The Peacock women's golf team heads to Lake City, Minnesota, on Monday and Tuesday for The Jewel Invitational, hosted by Concordia-St. Paul (Minn.). The tournament takes place at The Jewel Golf Club.
LAST TIME OUT
The Peacocks finished eighth at the Minnesota State Fall Brawl this past week, shooting 332 (+48) as a team. Junior Addison Weber led the team with a T-23rd-place finish after scoring 162 (+20). Weber tied for the seventh-most pars in the tournament with 20.
Fern Babinski tied for 29th with a score of 164 (+22). The sophomore tallied 80 parts, tying for the 15th-most in the tournament.
Morgan Krall, Fabiana Barrero Campo and Kathryn Ballard all debuted for the Peacocks. Krall led the freshmen, tying for 39th with a score of 168 (+26). Barrero Campo his a hole-in-one on hole three in the first round.
Concordia-St. Paul won the tournament with a score of 622 (+54). The Golden Bears shot 299 (+15) as a team on the second day, which was the best round of the tournament. Wisconsin-Stout took second, shooting 625 (+57), and Minnesota State placed third with a score of 631 (+63).
MEET INFO
The Jewel Golf Club course played at 5,804 yards last season from the women's tees. The course features three par fives, 11 par fours and four par threes for a par of 71.
The tournament features 12 other teams, all from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). Concordia-St. Paul, Southwest Minnesota State, Minot State (N.D.), Minnesota Crookston, Sioux Falls (S.D.), Minnesota State, Bemidji State (Minn.), Winona State (Minn.), Augustana (S.D.), MSU Moorhead, UMary (N.D.) and St. Cloud State will all be competing at The Jewel.
2025 JEWEL INVITATIONAL
Weber led the Peacocks with a score of 152 (+10) at last season's Jewel Invitational. She shot 72 (+1) in the second round, marking the second-best round of her career. She totaled 24 pars in the tournament, tying for the fourth-most.
Lizzy Ellis was the team's second-best golfer, tying for 32nd with a score of 162 (+20). Fern Babinski shot 171 (+29) to finish in a tie for 49th. Every Peacock golfer improved their day two score from day one.
The Peacocks finished eighth out of 12 teams after shooting 649 (+81). Arkansas-Fort Smith won the tournament with a score of 592 (+24). Minnesota State finished second, and Winona State placed third.

UIU has a bit of a short week after the Jewel. The Peacocks continue the fall campaign in Minnesota with the EverSpring Inn & Suites Mustang on Saturday, Sept. 26, and Sunday, Sept. 27.
