FAYETTE, Iowa - The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced the all-conference selections for the 2025-26 men's basketball season on Wednesday. Kyle Hrncir earned All-GLVC First Team, and Trey Lewis was the team's James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award honoree.
Hrncir becomes the fourth Peacock to be named to the All-GLVC first team. Jake Hilmer and Noah King garnered the honor during the 2023-24 season, while Nick Reid garnered the honor during the 2024-25 season. Hrncir averaged 17.1 points per game (ppg), 9.1 rebounds per game (rpg), 4.1 assists per game (apg) and 1.7 steals per game (spg) this season. The redshirt junior led the conference in rebounds per game and double-doubles with 13. His double-double total also placed him 14th nationally.
Lewis earned the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award, given to a student-athlete who has distinguished herself through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These individuals must also be in good academic standing while also demonstrating good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. Lewis is now eligible to become one of UIU's two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced at the end of the academic year.
The senior from Johnston averaged 14.5 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 3.3 apg and 1.1 spg. He was seventh in the GLVC and 59th nationally in free-throw percentage (85.5%). He is also 10th in the conference in assist/turnover ratio (1.66).
The Peacocks are preparing for GLVC Tournament action this weekend. The tournament starts on Thursday with the quarterfinals against William Jewell (Mo.) (19-9, 15-5 GLVC) at 7:45 p.m. in St. Louis, Missouri.
