Peacock basketball player becomes first Academic All-American® in program history

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Kyle Hrncir earned a First Team College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-American® selection on Tuesday. He becomes the first Academic All-American® for the basketball program in its history.

This season, Hrncir averaged 16.9 points per game with nine rebounds per game. He led the GLVC in rebounds per game while ranking seventh in points per game. Nationally, Hrncir ranked 24th in rebounds per game and 16th in double-doubles with 13.

He helped lead the Peacocks to a 17-win season and a GLVC Tournament berth. The redshirt junior was the lone UIU player to make an All-GLVC Team with his first team selection. He earned NABC/D2CIDA National Player of the Week once and GLVC Player of the Week twice.

Hrncir was one of four players from the GLVC to earn a spot on the CSC Academic All-America Division II team. Jaylen Wesley of Rockhurst (Mo.) was also selected to the first team, while Justice Sutton of William Jewell (Mo.) and Andrew Young of Missouri S&T were on the third team. There were seven total selections from the Midwest Region.

Carson-Newman's Jack Browder was named the CSC Academic All-America® Division II team member of the year. The five members of Division II first team had a 3.84 average GPA. Additionally, four members of the Academic All-America® team hold a perfect 4.0 GPA.

The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Division II Academic All-America® program.
