FAYETTE, Iowa - The Upper Iowa men's basketball team released its 2026-27 schedule on Tuesday. The Peacocks open the season with an exhibition game on Oct. 29 against Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls at the McLeod Center. UIU's first regular season game will be in Dorman Gymnasium on Nov. 9 against Sioux Falls (S.D.). 

The schedule features 28 regular season games, including 20 GLVC contests and eight nonconference matchups. 

"We are really excited about our nonconference schedule," said head coach Casey Kasperbauer. "It was very important to test ourselves right away so we can be prepared for conference play. Every nonconference opponent is well-coached, disciplined and tough. It is going to be exciting to take on early challenges and get a barometer of where we are as a team." 

The Peacocks will host this year's GLIAC/GLVC Crossover against Parkside (Wis.) and Roosevelt (Ill.) on Nov. 13-14. The team will play Purdue Northwest in a home-and-home series with a game in Fayette on Nov. 21 and a game in Hammond, Indiana on Dec. 19. UIU will also face Winona State on the road, with Macalester College (Minn.) and Crown College (Minn.) at home in nonconference play. 

GLVC action starts on Monday, Nov. 30 on the road against Quincy (Ill.). The GLVC is starting a primarily Wednesday/Saturday schedule for games this season. Upper Iowa will close the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 27 in Fayette. This year's GLVC Tournament takes place in St. Joseph, Missouri, at the St. Joseph Civic Arena on March 4-7. 

"We can't wait to see our guys here in a few weeks and get right to work," Kasperbauer said.
