FAYETTE, Iowa - This week, the Peacock women's golf team travels to Mayette, Kansas, to play in the Washburn Invitational. The invite is located at the Firekeeper Golf Course on Monday, March 23, and Tuesday, March 24.
FALL RECAP
Upper Iowa's last meet was the Bearcat Dual Gender on Oct. 20-21, where the team placed 10th, shooting 1,006 (+142). The Peacocks placed 6th with a season-best two-round score of 636 (+60) at the Wartburg Fall Invitational on Sep. 6-7.
Addison Weber's best finish came at the Jewel Invite, where she placed 10th with a score of 152 (+10). Her lowest round of golf was on day two of the Wartburg Invitational, when she shot a 70 (-2). Lizzy Ellis' best finish came at the Flyers Fall Intercollegiate when she placed 14th with a career-best total of 241 (+25). The senior shot a 79 (+7) over two rounds at the meet, a career-best.
Fern Babinski finished in 24th place with a score of 243 (+27) at the Bearcat Dual Gender, which was a season-best. She also shot a career-low 77 (+5) in round three of the tournament. Delaney Martin's best performance was at the Wartburg Invite, where she finished 18th with a score of 157 (+13). The graduate also shot a season-low 76 (+4) in the meet. Brynn Bonefas shot a season-low 162 (+18) at the Wartburg Invite to open the season.
MEET INFO
The Firekeeper Golf Course is a 7,700-yard par 72 course. Four-time PGA Tour winner Notah Begay III and Jeff Brauer designed the course.
There will be 13 teams competing at the meet, including UIU. The meet features five NSIC teams and five MIAA teams. East Central (Okla.) and Dodge City Community College (Kan.) are also competing. Rockhurst (Mo.) and Upper Iowa are the two teams competing from the GLVC.

UIU continues its spring season by golfing in the NSIC Preview hosted by Minnesota State on March 30-31. The Peacocks host the Upper Iowa Invitational on April 3-4 at the Sunnyside College Course in Waterloo.
